Microsoft Dynamics GP Payroll Year-End Support
As it gets busy the next couple of months, we are proactively contacting you to ask whether you would like to reserve time on the calendar for assistance with your payroll year-end processes. (We highly recommend this at least your first year going thru payroll year-end processes with Dynamics GP.)
You will find recommended steps (click here to receive the documentation) and links to W-2 formats as well as other helpful information in this guide.
Important Documents: If you did not receive the following documentation please click here to contact InterDyn BMI.
- The 2009 payroll year-end prep guide
- Excel spreadsheet to help reconcile your taxable wages
NOTE: If you do not normally load your own service packs, please contact InterDyn BMI support to schedule assistance with this process prior to my year-end visit with you. The year-end update is not absolutely required to be installed this year unless any of the following situations apply to you, it must be installed.
- You have employees with foreign addresses in Kosovo or Serbia, and file W-2’s electronically.
- You need to print1099-R forms, involving Code B or U.
Even if these situations don’t apply to you, it is highly recommended that you have the latest service pack installed. Please contact InterDyn BMI Customer Service at 1.866.264.3249 or support@interdynbmi.com prior to installing the service pack OR if you have any custom GP code installed on your system.
New this year for State of Minnesota: State of Minnesota is requiring electronic filing of 2009 W-2’s if you have more than 50 forms to submit. (for 2010, if you have more than 25 forms, electronic filing will be required.)
See the info posted at http://taxes.mn.gov/taxes/withholding/tax_information/factsheets/wfs2_09.pdf
The good news is that the State of MN is accepting the same file format that the IRS requires. If you currently own the Dynamics GP module for Federal Magnetic Media, you can submit this same file to MN. Another option is to manually key your Employee W-2 information into a website.
If manually keying your W-2’s into a website is not feasible and you do not own the Federal Magnetic Media module, please contact InterDyn BMI for a price quote on this product. It requires a change in registration keys; no software installation is necessary.
If you have employees in states that require electronic filing of W-2’s but that state does not accept the EFW2 (formerly MMREF) format, we can direct you to an appropriate companion product that will generate that file for you.
