How to Perform a Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) with DPM 2010

Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 was recently released to manufacturing (RTM). InterDyn BMI’s System Engineer, Miles Longman, thought we should focus today’s post to review one of the best new features of the product: bare metal recovery.

Bare metal recovery, or BMR, allows you to backup all the data that is necessary to restore a computer to a working point in just a few short steps. There is a caveat to that statement which is covered in the whitepaper.
